Doggie Do Do’s
It is important that you DO DO certain things and that you DO NOT do other things.
FOLLOW ALL NUTRITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS ESPECIALLY IN FIRST FEW DAYS/WEEKS (see#7)
1. Do get a collar and a name tag with your phone number on it
2. Do Love Your Puppy. Give them LOTS of attention. Remember that these puppies are in a lot of ways just like a human baby. They don’t know what will hurt them and “do” know when they are loved.
3. Do trim their eyes and their bottoms. Their hair grows at about the same rate as yours, so just think how annoying it is to get hair in your eyes! A common problem for Shih Tzu’s is impacted bowels caused by feces getting stuck in hair immediately around the anus. Many puppies die from this every year. Simple trimming with a short pair of round nose scissors will put a smile on both ends!
4. Do get their shots. Start a routine with a vet of your choice.
5. Do keep them at home. Parvo is a SERIOUS problem in the Phoenix area. Do NOT take them to Petsmart or Petco or a groomer or ANY public place until they have had ALL their shots. Cats are a carrier of this disease even though they don’t get it themselves. Your own back yard may not be safe.
6. Do teach them about swimming pools and the tires of cars, just like you would a human baby. Put them by a tire and honk the horn. Put them in the pool and let them know they will sink and get wet. Some will learn how to swim with your help, but depending on your pool, they may not be able to get out!
7. Do use a high quality pet food such as “Pro Plan Puppy Chow” We highly recommend:

8. Do understand that we guarantee puppies for 6 months from date of birth, but we DO NOT pay vet bills. Not following our advice will void any guarantees.
9. DO ENJOY YOUR PUPPY. We are now related by dog!
Watch where you step or you might get “Shih Shoes”
