What decides the price
- Size. Tea-cup and Imperial puppies are rare, take more care in their first weeks, and are in high demand, so they are priced above standard-size puppies. What each size means is in the size guide.
- Color and markings. Less common coats and patterns, tagged "rare color" on a listing, can carry a premium.
- Lineage. Puppies from champion lines are priced accordingly.
What never changes the price: every puppy is a purebred, AKC-registered Shih Tzu raised in our home, with the same vet care and the same guarantee.
What you get for the price
- A vet check before going home, age-appropriate vaccinations and worming
- Feeding notes for the first weeks, plus a phone call away whenever you have a question
- AKC registration paperwork, sent once spay or neuter is confirmed
- The Puppy Love six-month guarantee: a full refund or credit toward another puppy if you need to return your puppy before six months old
- A puppy you have met in person, along with its parents, before you decide
Deposit and balance
Reserving takes a deposit of $500 or more, sent by Venmo or Zelle through the puppy's listing, and it counts toward the price. The balance is paid before the puppy goes home: cash at pickup, or a check received at least two weeks earlier. Change your mind before pickup and the deposit is refunded or credited, your choice. The full terms are in the adoption agreement you sign when you reserve.
Price questions
How much does a Shih Tzu puppy cost in Arizona?
Prices depend on size, color and lineage, and every puppy's price is shown on its listing. Each listing shows its price. Our smaller Imperial and Tea-cup puppies are priced higher than standard-size puppies because they are rarer and need more care in their first weeks.
What is included in the price?
A vet check before going home, age-appropriate vaccinations and worming, feeding notes for the first weeks, AKC registration paperwork once spay or neuter is confirmed, and our six-month guarantee. There are no extra fees at pickup.
How much is the deposit?
A deposit of at least $500, up to the full price, holds the puppy and is applied to the purchase price. It is refundable under our guarantee if you change your mind before the puppy goes home.
When and how is the balance paid?
The balance is due before the puppy goes home, either in cash at pickup or by check received at least two weeks before pickup so it has time to clear. Deposits can be sent by Venmo, Zelle, check or cash.
Are there any other costs?
Breeding rights, when we consider a puppy suitable, are an additional fee set out in the adoption agreement. If a puppy is not picked up by the agreed date, a boarding fee of $10 per day applies. Otherwise the listed price is the whole price.
