Shih Tzu puppies in Arizona
Family-raised Imperial and Tea-cup Shih Tzu puppies in Mesa, serving Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, Scottsdale, Phoenix and the rest of the East Valley.
Puppy Love Shih Tzu is a family breeder in Mesa, Arizona. We have raised AKC-registered Shih Tzus in our home for over 30 years. Our puppies grow up in the house with our family, are handled every day, and meet their new families in person before they go home.
Most of our families live in the Phoenix area, and we have placed puppies with families across Arizona.

Meeting a puppy
- Browse the puppies. Each listing has photos, video, the parents, the price, a size tag, and the date the puppy is ready to go home.
- Request a visit. Pick a time on the listing. Visits are by appointment at our home in Mesa, and we send the address once it is confirmed.
- Reserve online. Sign the adoption agreement and send a deposit of $500 or more by Venmo or Zelle.
- Bring your puppy home at eight weeks old, with a vet check, first vaccinations and feeding notes.
Raising a Shih Tzu in Arizona
- Heat. Shih Tzus are short-nosed dogs and do not handle heat well. In summer, walk early in the morning or after dark, and keep them indoors with air conditioning during the day.
- Hot pavement. If the ground is too hot for the back of your hand, it is too hot for paws.
- Parvo. It is common in the Phoenix area. Keep your puppy away from parks, pet stores and unknown dogs until your vet confirms the vaccine series is complete.
- Water and shade. Always available, especially for the smallest puppies.
Our puppy care page has the full list we give every new owner.
Sizes we raise
We specialize in the smaller sizes: Imperial Shih Tzus, around 6 to 9 pounds full grown, and Tea-cup Shih Tzus, around 4 to 6 pounds. See the size guide for what to expect from each, and the FAQ for prices, deposits and AKC papers.
